The Matka are our toughest gaiters, designed for trudging through deep powder, traversing boulder fields or climbing icy slopes with crampons.

The Matka have been designed to take a beating, whatever the mountains throw at you. The bottom sections are made from super abrasion and tear resistant 1000D Cordura® nylon. And the insteps have been reinforced with Kevlar to withstand stray crampon spikes. The upper section is made from a tough 300D 3-layer waterproof fabric, providing breathability where you need it most.

A higher volume lower section fits over bulkier winter boots, sealing out snow and water. And, like the rest of our gaiters, a full-length cut and carefully tapered fit reduces any excess fabric so you don’t catch them as you walk. We’ve also added simple loops to tidy away any straps that could get caught under your feet – essential on exposed routes.

The Matka have a strong Velcro closure that’s easy to put on and tough TPU underfoot straps with stainless steel buckles. The tapered fit and robust fabrics stop the gaiters from slipping down but there’s also an adjustable webbing strap at the top to hold them above your calves
